Description

Delicious air fryer shrimp seasoned with chili powder and garlic, perfect for tacos or rice bowls.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp (with or without tails)
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prep shrimp: Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Transfer them to a bowl, add the remaining ingredients, and toss until the shrimp are evenly coated.
  2. Air fry: Preheat air fryer to 400°F. When hot, place shrimp in a single layer and cook for 7 to 8 minutes or until cooked through and tender. Cooking time: Large sized shrimp (21 to 25 per pound) cooks in 7 to 8 minutes, whereas medium ones (31 to 40 per pound) will cook in 6 to 7 minutes.
  3. Serve with lime wedges or use it to make tacos, rice bowls, quesadillas, or Mexican salads.
  4. To make shrimp bowls, layer the cooked shrimp over cilantro lime rice (or plain rice), then top with sliced avocado and fresh tomato salad, black beans, and sweet corn. Finish with a generous drizzle of sour cream sauce.
  5. Make avocado and tomato salad: Gently toss one large diced avocado with ½ cup chopped tomatoes, 2 tablespoons thinly sliced red onion, a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, a little finely chopped jalapeño, and salt to taste. Mix carefully to keep the avocado chunks intact.
  6. Make sour cream sauce: Stir sour cream with salt, lemon juice, and a splash of water.
