- 4 cups cubed brioche or white bread
- 2 ripe bananas, sliced
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups milk
- 3 eggs
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp butter (for greasing)
- Maple syrup or honey for drizzle
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and butter a baking dish.
- Whisk together milk, eggs, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Spread half the bread cubes in the dish, top with spoonfuls of cream cheese and banana slices.
- Add remaining bread and pour the milk mixture evenly over.
- Press gently to soak; let sit 10 minutes.
- Bake 35–40 minutes until golden and set.
- Top with fresh banana slices and drizzle with maple syrup before serving warm.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use challah bread instead of brioche.
- Let the pudding cool slightly before serving for easier slicing.
