Ingredients

  • Red food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease three 8-inch round cake pans.
  2. Make chocolate cake batter with flour, cocoa, butter, sugar, eggs, and baking agents; bake for 30–35 minutes.
  3. Prepare chocolate buttercream and stack the cake layers, frosting in between.
  4. Cover with a light layer of buttercream, then pour chocolate ganache over the top for a dripping effect.
  5. Sculpt a creepy skull face into the side with a knife or spatula, filling details with darker frosting.
  6. Insert candy eyeballs or decorated truffles into the sockets, using red glaze or jam for “blood.”
  7. Top with truffles, wafer sticks, and a drizzle of red glaze for a gory finish.
