Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and butter a baking dish.
- Layer 8–10 sheets of phyllo, brushing each with melted butter.
- Spread a generous layer of finely chopped pistachios.
- Repeat layering phyllo and nuts until dish is filled, finishing with 8 sheets of phyllo on top.
- Cut into squares or diamonds before baking.
- Bake for 45–50 minutes until golden and crisp.
- Meanwhile, simmer honey, sugar, lemon juice, and water to make syrup.
- Pour syrup over hot baklava and let soak for 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- Ensure to brush each layer of phyllo with melted butter for a flaky texture.
- Let the baklava rest for at least 2 hours to absorb the syrup properly.
- Optional: Add cinnamon to the nut mixture for extra flavor.
