Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 12-cup muffin pan with cupcake liners.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and buttermilk.
- Combine and Mix: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined and smooth.
- Fill and Bake: Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely.
- Prepare Frosting: In a large bowl, beat the heavy cream until it begins to thicken. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and continue beating until soft peaks form. Gently fold in the crushed Oreos.
- Frost and Decorate: Pipe or spread the cookies and cream frosting onto each cooled cupcake. Top each cupcake with a whole Oreo for decoration.
