Ingredients

  • 6 hot dogs (or mozzarella sticks for cheese version)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Oil for frying
  • Spicy mayo, chili flakes, and chopped scallions for topping

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, egg, and milk until a smooth batter forms.
  2. Skewer hot dogs (or half hot dog, half mozzarella if desired).
  3. Dip each skewer into the batter, then coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Fry at 350°F (175°C) until golden brown and crisp, about 3–4 minutes.
  5. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Drizzle with spicy mayo or cheese sauce, and sprinkle chili flakes or scallions on top.
