A rich and decadent Dark Chocolate Spiderweb Cake, perfect for Halloween or any chocolate lover’s celebration.
Ingredients

- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup cocoa powder (dark or black)
- 3 large eggs
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Black ganache or icing for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and baking soda.
- Add eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla; mix until smooth and well combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cake cool completely before removing from the pan.
- Pour black chocolate ganache over the cake.
- Pipe a spiderweb design on top using white or lighter icing; start from the center and draw outward lines, connecting them in a web shape.
Notes
- Ensure the cake is completely cool before decorating to prevent the ganache from melting.
- For a more intense chocolate flavor, use high-quality dark chocolate for the ganache.
- This cake can be made a day in advance and stored in an airtight container.
