A delightful cherry tart made with fresh cherries, perfect for dessert.
Ingredients

- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted and halved
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a tart pan.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Gradually mix in flour and salt to form a soft dough.
- Press dough into the prepared tart pan.
- Combine cherries with sugar and vanilla in another bowl, tossing gently to coat.
- Pour cherry mixture over the crust evenly.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the crust is golden brown and cherries are bubbly.
- Allow to cool completely before slicing. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
Notes
- Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For a variation, add almond extract to the cherry mixture for extra flavor.
