Description

A delightful layered dessert combining chocolate sandwich cookies, whipped cream, chocolate pudding, and more!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package chocolate sandwich cookies (e.g., Oreos)
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package chocolate instant pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 chocolate cake or brownie, baked and cut into cubes
  • 1 cup hot fudge sauce, warmed

Instructions

  1. Prepare Whipped Cream: In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Set aside in the refrigerator.
  2. Make the Pudding: In another bowl, prepare the chocolate pudding according to package instructions using 2 cups of cold milk. Allow it to set in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes.
  3. Create Cookie Crumbles: Roughly chop or crush the chocolate sandwich cookies. Leave some whole for garnish.
  4. Assemble the Trifle: In a large trifle dish or bowl, start with a layer of chocolate cake or brownie cubes. Top with a layer of chocolate pudding, spreading it evenly. Add a layer of whipped cream, smoothing it out with a spatula. Sprinkle a generous handful of crushed cookies on top. Drizzle with a few tablespoons of warm fudge sauce. Repeat the layers until all components are used, finishing with whipped cream and whole cookies on top for garnish.

Notes

  • Make Ahead: This trifle can be made a day in advance. Store it covered in the refrigerator.
  • Flavor Variations: Add layers of caramel or peanut butter sauce for extra flavor.
  • Garnishing: Use shaved chocolate or chocolate chips for additional decoration on top.
  • Serving Suggestion: Allow the trifle to sit for 30 minutes at room temperature before serving for softer textures.
