A delicious and hearty lasagna recipe that layers rich meat sauce, cheese, and pasta.

- 9 lasagna noodles (regular or no-boil)
- 1 lb lean ground beef or turkey
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup cottage cheese (or ricotta)
- 2 cups shredded whole milk mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- Fresh basil (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a skillet, brown the ground meat over medium heat; drain excess fat and stir in marinara sauce until heated through.
- Layer a thin layer of meat sauce in the baking dish, then add noodles, dollops of cottage cheese, and shredded mozzarella.
- Repeat layering until ingredients are used up, finishing with mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, substitute meat with vegetables like zucchini or mushrooms.
- Serve with a side salad for a complete meal.
