Description

Deliciously crispy French toast sandwiches filled with layers of ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese, perfect for brunch!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices bread (white or brioche)
  • 2 slices cooked ham
  • 2 slices turkey breast
  • 2 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Butter for frying
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
  • Raspberry or blackberry jam (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Spread mayonnaise on two slices of bread and Dijon mustard on the other two slices.
  2. On the two slices with mayonnaise, add a slice of Swiss cheese, followed by the ham and turkey. Top with another slice of Swiss cheese. Close with the other slices of bread (with the mustard side facing the fillings).
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well-combined.
  4. Carefully dip each assembled sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well-coated.
  5. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter until bubbly.
  6. Add the dipped sandwiches to the skillet and cook for 3-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Once cooked, remove the sandwiches from the pan and allow them to rest for a minute.
  8. If desired, dust the sandwiches with powdered sugar for an extra touch of sweetness.
  9. Cut the sandwiches in half diagonally before serving.
