Description

A delicious and satisfying fried rice dish featuring tender beef and a variety of colorful vegetables, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups cooked rice (preferably day-old for best texture)
  • 300 grams beef, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 small carrot, diced
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • 1/2 cup corn kernels
  • 1 small red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef:
    • Season the beef slices with salt and pepper.
    • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
    • Add the beef and stir-fry until well-browned and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  2. Sauté the Vegetables:
    • In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil.
    • Add garlic and onion, sauté until fragrant and onions are translucent.
    • Stir in the diced carrots, peas, corn, and red bell pepper. Cook until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  3. Combine Ingredients:
    • Add the cooked rice into the pan with the vegetables.
    • Return the beef to the pan.
    • Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce, stirring to coat the ingredients evenly.
    • Drizzle with sesame oil for added aroma and flavor.
  4. Final Touches:
    • Adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper, if necessary.
    • Stir in the chopped green onions.
    • Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro before serving.

Notes

  • Use cold, day-old rice for best results as it’s less sticky and yields better texture.
  • Customize the vegetables based on preference or availability.
  • Consider marinating the beef with a little soy sauce and ginger for additional flavor before cooking.
  • For added spice, include some sliced chili or a sprinkle of chili flakes.
  • Ensure high heat while stir-frying to achieve a nice sear and prevent the rice from becoming mushy.
