Description

Sparkling Sunset Candy Apples are a fun and tasty treat that combines the sweetness of candy with the vibrant colors of a sunset.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 medium apples (washed and dried)
  • 2 cups sugar
  • ¾ cup light corn syrup
  • ½ cup water
  • Gel food coloring (pink, orange, yellow)
  • Edible glitter (fine grade)
  • Wooden sticks

Instructions

  1. Insert sticks firmly into each apple and set aside on parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water; cook on medium heat until mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
  3. Remove from heat and divide syrup into portions for each color.
  4. Add food coloring — yellow first, then orange, then pink — layering as you dip apples halfway in each color.
  5. Sprinkle with edible glitter for a shimmering effect.
  6. Place apples upright on parchment to cool and harden.
  7. Serve once the candy coating is fully set and sparkling.

Notes

  • Ensure apples are completely dry before dipping to help the candy coating adhere.
  • Use a candy thermometer for accurate temperature measurement.
  • Be cautious when handling hot syrup to avoid burns.
