Description

Create magical and whimsical candy-coated apple treats, perfect for parties or special occasions!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil or shortening
  • 4 lollipop sticks
  • edible pastel sprinkles
  • edible wafer paper decorations (e.g., bows and shapes)
  • gel food coloring (yellow)
  • mini marshmallows (for ears)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Apples:
    • Wash and dry the apples thoroughly.
    • Insert a lollipop stick into the top of each apple.
    • Optional: Dip each apple in boiling water for a few seconds to remove any waxy coating.
  2. Make the Candy Coating:
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine white chocolate chips and coconut oil.
    • Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
    • Stir in a few drops of yellow gel food coloring until the desired shade is reached.
  3. Assemble the Ears:
    • Cut mini marshmallows in half and attach them to the top sides of each apple using a small amount of melted chocolate as glue.
  4. Dip the Apples:
    • Hold each apple by the stick and dip it into the melted chocolate, covering the entire surface.
    • Allow excess chocolate to drip off.
    • Immediately sprinkle the top with pastel sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
  5. Add Decorations:
    • Gently press edible wafer paper decorations onto the front of the apple.
    • Allow the chocolate to set completely, placing apples on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
