Description

A delicious and creamy banana caramel cheesecake with a buttery graham cracker crust and a delightful topping of bananas, caramel sauce, and chopped nuts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 24 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce
  • 2 bananas, sliced
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (for banana preservation)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crust: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Bake for 8-10 minutes, then remove and let it cool.
  2. Make the Cheesecake Filling: In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Mix in sour cream and vanilla extract until combined. Pour in the caramel sauce and mix until fully incorporated. Pour the filling over the crust in the springform pan.
  3. Bake the Cheesecake: Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45-50 minutes or until the center is set. Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool with the door ajar. Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  4. Prepare the Topping: Just before serving, toss the banana slices with lemon juice to prevent browning. Arrange banana slices on top of the cheesecake. Drizzle with caramel sauce. Sprinkle chopped walnuts and sliced almonds over the top.

Notes

  • Ensure Cream Cheese Is Softened: This helps achieve a smooth filling. Leave it at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • Prevent Cracks: For a crack-free cheesecake, bake it in a water bath. Wrap the pan in aluminum foil to prevent water from seeping in.
  • Chill Thoroughly: Let the cheesecake set in the refrigerator to develop its full flavor and get the right consistency.
  • Use Fresh Bananas: Ideally add toppings shortly before serving to ensure freshness and prevent browning.
