Ingredients
- Mascarpone cheese
- Ladyfinger biscuits
- Espresso (or strong coffee)
- Cocoa powder
- Heavy cream
- Sugar
- Egg yolks
- Vanilla extract
- Coffee liqueur (optional)
Instructions
- Brew espresso and let it cool; add liqueur if using.
- Whisk egg yolks with sugar until pale, then fold in mascarpone.
- Whip cream until soft peaks form, then gently fold into mascarpone mixture.
- Quickly dip ladyfingers into cooled espresso and layer them in a dish.
- Spread half the mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers.
- Repeat layers with more soaked biscuits and mascarpone cream.
- Dust generously with cocoa powder, chill at least 6 hours, and garnish with whipped cream and strawberries before serving.
