Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in the milk until combined.
  4. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in blueberries.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh blueberries. Frozen blueberries can be used, but decrease the mixing time to prevent the batter from turning blue.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for a week.
