Description
Deliciously soft and chewy banana chocolate chip cookies with a hint of cinnamon and the crunch of nuts.
Ingredients
Scale
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 mashed banana
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts
- ½ cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) so it’s ready to go when the dough is mixed.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup super easy.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and brown sugar together until the mixture looks light, creamy, and fluffy.
- Mix in the mashed banana, egg, and vanilla extract until everything comes together into a smooth batter.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and cinnamon.
- Slowly add the dry mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring gently until it’s fully combined. Try not to overmix—just mix until you don’t see streaks of flour.
- If you’re adding chocolate chips, nuts, or any other mix-ins, gently fold them into the dough.
- Scoop tablespoons of dough onto your prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges look lightly golden and set.
- Let the cookies cool on a wire rack so they firm up without getting soggy on the bottom. Enjoy them warm and melty, or let them cool completely for a soft, chewy treat anytime.
Notes
- For a different flavor, try adding more spices like nutmeg or using different types of nuts.
- Store cookies in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
