Description

Perfectly seared steak crowned with velvety mushroom cream sauce, served over buttery mashed potatoes — a restaurant-worthy comfort dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
  • 1 cup cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes (prepared)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Salt, pepper, and fresh herbs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season steaks with salt and pepper; sear in olive oil until desired doneness. Set aside to rest.
  2. In the same pan, melt butter and sauté mushrooms until golden.
  3. Add garlic and cook briefly before stirring in heavy cream.
  4. Simmer until the sauce thickens slightly; season with salt and pepper.
  5. Spoon mashed potatoes onto plates as a base.
  6. Place the steak on top and pour mushroom sauce generously over it.
  7. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve warm for an elegant, hearty meal.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use a mix of different mushrooms.
  • Adjust the thickness of the sauce by simmering longer or adding more cream.
  • Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing to retain juices.
